1. Allow the sale in the US of all medical drugs which are legal in EU, Canada, Australia and Japan. FDA approval should be optional.
2. Everyone who has a doctor's license in those countries should be allowed to practice medicine in US. Moreover, US policy must encourage and aid immigration of doctors from those countries to America. Immediate permanent residency to all practicing doctors from developed countries who want to come to the US.
3. Abolish state limitations on minimum medical insurance coverage.
4. Give private doctors and hospitals same protection from lawsuits as the government entities have.
5. Stop the influx of illegal immigrants.

John Locke you are not, my hyphenated friend. A very interesting set of policy points. I think it is time for you to run for public office.
Isn't the real problem that there is no limit to how much people will choose to spend to improve their health and lifespan? In some aggregate sense there may be a point of diminishing returns. But, an individual wants as much medical care as possible. Reducing the unit cost of health care will not help if demand grows indefinitely... Perhaps we need to ban the invention of better (more expensive) medical procedures and medicines.

So you think the EU, Canada, etc. don't have FDAs or don't have limitations on which drugs are approved for sale in their countries? Or you simply trust those socialists in countries that have universal health care more than the FDA?

Again, if the EU, etc. licensed doctors, why do you trust them? Are their doctors better educated than US trained doctors? And one quarter (25%) of all practicing physicians in the US are ALREADY immigrants. But the bigger point is that you think more doctors will save money! That's a great idea if you want a more expensive health care system since all evidence shows that the more doctors there are, the more health care costs.

Malpractice costs are less than 2% of all health care costs. Not much savings there.

Illegal immigrants use less health care than native born Americans. They tend to be young and healthy. Not much savings there.
